Fantastic Book

This was the first short story collection I read and it got me hooked. The stories were fantastic! I think there were one or two that weren't worth reading, but you get that with all anthologies. The authors all have such different styles and points of view on werewolves and Christmas time. It is definitely worth your time to read this book.

grim

I picked this up since I am a fan of Briggs and Thurman (I have read most of the other authors before and am not a fan.)

The Briggs story was from the werewolf's viewpoint. It was actually a good short story but I somehow felt no connection to or interest in the main character. Rather, I was left feeling that it would have been a hundred times better if it was built around the boy in the story and maybe became a starting point for a series around him.

The Thurman story was, frankly, grim. While it was well written, at the end, I wish I hadn't read it since it left a yucky residue on my brain.

Glad I borrowed it from the local library instead of impulse buying.

A little perverse.

I am a vampire person, so I read this for the Charlaine Harris story. I enjoyed that story, but the rest was kind of gross and outright perverse at times. Christmas is Christmas, and the stories about Santa Claus being evil and gross really irked me. I love Christmas, and the humor that was probably intended was lost on me. I'm glad I read it off season, as it would have depressed me during the holidays. Don't bother to read this because you can get the CH story somewhere else (Touch of Dead), unless you just love werewolf stories.

Sookie Stackhouse

Bought this for the Sookie Stackhouse short story...was not impressed. I would not spend the money on it if I knew.

Something for everyone.

Great collection of stories. The interesting twists the authors gave their stories were fantastic! So worth reading!!

Product Description

The editors of Many Bloody Returns deliver the perfect howl-iday gift, with new tales from Patricia Briggs, Carrie Vaughn, and many more.

New York Times bestselling authors Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs, Keri Arthur, and Carrie Vaughn—along with eleven other masters of the genre—offer all-new stories on werewolves and the holidays, a fresh variation on the concept that worked so well with birthdays and vampires in Many Bloody Returns.

The holidays can bring out the beast in anyone. They are particularly hard for lycanthropes. Charlaine Harris and Toni L. P. Kelner have harvested the scariest, funniest and saddest werewolf tales by an outstanding pack of authors, best read by the light of a full moon with a silver bullet close at hand.

Whether wolfing down a holiday feast (use your imagination) or craving some hair of the dog on New Year’s morning, the werewolves in these frighteningly original stories will surprise, delight, amuse, and scare the pants off readers who love a little wolfsbane with their mistletoe.
