Many problems

We've used this coffee maker for 6 months and it already need replacing. It began with the "clean" light remaining constantly lit about 4 months after we purchased it. I cleaned it time and time again with vinegar as stated in the manual. I replaced the filters and nothing helped. We ignored the light, but in the last few days the coffee maker stopped making coffee part way through the cycle - meaning we would try and make 8 cups, but the machine would stop after making only 4 cups. I e-mailed Cuisinart and received no response. I called and basically the first thing the representative mentioned was sending us a new machine. I have to think this is an ongoing problem with these machines since the first thing he said was they'd send us a new machine.

Also, I was never really happy with the design. A regular coffee cup will fit under the dispenser, but a travel mug won't.

Almost completely satisfied

I had been insterested in this coffeemaker for some time. When my coffeemaker died I decided to buy the Cuisinart. I say I am almost completely satisfied because there is one drawback. I didn't consider the fact that some cups and travel mugs are to tall to fill. I have to use a regualr coffee cup and transfer to the mug. I have not have any of the problems some others describe. I am very pleased with my choice and would recommend this to others without hesitation.

UGLY PLASTIC

Ok, if you want good coffee, this is a good coffee maker. I like the carafe-less design and coffee so much, I bought this as a replacement for the same cuisinart model. Previous one lasted 4 or so years so I guess I was lucky compared to some of the reviews.

Now for the disappointment: THE FAUX STAINLESS STEEL! As I said this is a replacement and the previous one was a nice stainless that matched the line of stainless appliances in my kitchen. Now I have a grey plastic appliance sitting on my counter top. YUCK!

A Femme Fatale

She was a beauty. Nothing else looked as good in our kitchen. And she was so sensible, great coffee. Such a practical idea, no fussing with carafes and the coffee remained hot and fresh. But I should have known better. While I was examining her at a local department store, making certain the package confirmed all the wondrous features promised, a woman, a very attractive woman, walked up to me and said, "Don't do it."
I was taken aback. She told me she had owned this brewing beauty and she had only lasted 5 months. I couldn't believe it. Perhaps the woman didn't treat her right, two beautiful creatures in the kitchen every morning? The competition could turn deadly. So I bought her anyway. And for several months it was a blissful romance, it tasted marvelous. But the woman in the store was right, almost 5 months to the day, she turned on me. She developed a fatal, chronic leak that made messes all over the counter top and eventually spilled the life out of her. If you're willing to limit your love life to 5 month increments, like spending more than you should to win her affections, and don't mind repeatedly cleaning up after your lover, this is the coffee queen for you.

2nd Broken Coffee Pot !!

Great product "WHEN" it worked !

The second Cuisinart DCC-2000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-cup Programmable Coffeemaker I purchased in the last two years just died today ... (each one cost me apprx $100)

I'm disappointed that I wasted my hard earned money on a $100 coffee pot that only lasted one year. I really did love the product so much that when the 1st one broke I just assumed it was a lemon - so I bought a second one.

Now I see other people on the Amazon web-site with complaints about the same thing happening to them and that's even worse! I now strongly believe that Cuisinart must know about this defect but keeps selling it anyway.

I always thought the Cuisinart brand name was excellent ... I don't think that any longer ... I will never buy another product with there name on it.
