The results for the first one came back from the lab about 3 weeks after I sent it. My basement measured 8.2 pCi/L. The second one came back at 5.5 pCi/L it also took three weeks. I had my house treated based on these results and the company I hired tested with their professional meter at 0.5 pCi/L after the service was complete. I will buy another one of these kits to see how well it tested after the treatment and how it compares to the two initial tests I did. There was a decent about of variability between the 8.2 and 5.5 readings.....would recommend doing at least two.worked well, results available onlineThis worked well, as the reading I got compared almost exactly to the reading obtained on a more expensive electronic radon meter. The radon specialist who came out to the house to talk about reduction methods accepted the First Alert results as fact. Good for a first test of suspected radon.Lab Fee IS included in purchaseI have used this brand before and have been pleased. The Pro-Lab brand are a few bucks less, but you have to pay an additional $15 for each kit to obtain lab results. The only additional fee on First Alert is for postage, which amounts to 2 to 4 stamps each, depending on which instructions you follow. You can let the Post Office tell you, or weigh the envelope yourself, but I only put two stamps on and had no problem.Radon Kit ReviewI can't review the kit because I never got the results back from the lab. Read the instructions, do the test, mail the tester and wait for the results.My results came quickly--inside two weeks by USPS. The results appear to be in line with what I expected, given the soil conditions in our area and the passive mitigation that's already in the house. Price was much better than testers available at big box stores. Highly recommended if you need to do a radon test and don't want to pay a pro to do it for you.
