I drink about a gallon of water per day, so my refills usually last approximately 8 or 9 weeks. I suppose that for someone who does not drink as much as I do, it would last many more weeks. The water tastes great and I feel confident many pollutants have been cleared by going thru the Brita filter. I recommend this product highly. BTW, I suggest you purchase the larger pitcher (I believe it holds 1/2 gallon) because the lid of the smaller size pitcher sometimes does not fit tight enough and can cause water spillage. These filters are such a great deal on this site and the only complaint I have is not knowing when to change the filter. Didn't the Brita filters use to have a dial that points out when to change to a new filter? I love Brita filters (and the jugs) for the taste (or the lack of it) that it gives my tap water.
