The craftsmanship of the product leaves something to be desired. To clarify, it wasn't the part of the neck that you tighten that cracked, but the section just below that (not sure how to describe it). I rarely even adjusted the shower head position so this should not have happened.After noticing the hairline crack around month 3 of installation I kept using it anyway, but I made sure to not move the shower head. Unfortunately, around the 5th month the crack gave and completely split which rendered it completely useless. I'm not sure if I just received a defective shower head, but I was really disappointed with its lack of quality, esp. when it received so many positive reviews. Better than a showerhead w/o a filter but.........it's no Commando 2000 that Cosmo Kramer on Seinfeld obtained on the black market. The pressure was decreased somewhat but I could live with it. You can tell the water was filtered as there was a big difference in the quality of the water and the bathtub is staying cleaner longer. There was a problem with the swivel head because it would not stay in place but I resolved that with a thicker washer. Easy to install.Overall, not bad for the price and delivery time was reasonable. Love It.This shower head is much,much more than what I expected for the money.Very heavy duty and is everything it was expected to be!!!! You can't go wrong!!!great filterI decided to get this showerhead with the filter built in because its so simple to install with little room for leaks.It only took my husband about 5 minutes to install. The separate filter and showerhead seems to be a problem for many people because they leak so much. I have noticed that my skin and hair are softer and my eyes dont burn in the shower anymore. I live in Houston,Texas and the water seems to be very hard here with a lot of chlorine or chemicals.It seems that in places like this a filter for the water is a must.This has been a real life Seinfeld episodeRemember when Kramer and his friend Newman on the show Seinfeld complained of their new showerhead being installed by the apartment building's engineer was low flow? Kramer and Newman decided to buy an illegal showerhead and had to pick from several different models including a showerhead meant for circus animals. Well those two guys overcompensated and of course decided to purchase the showerhead meant for circus elephants.So then Kramer gets in the shower and tried out his new circus animal showerhead and gets knocked down by the strong water pressure. Using this showhead reminded me of that. Prior to purchasing the culligan filtered showerhead I was using a low flow showerhead. I had no idea my old showhead was low flow since the water pressure was great. I never had any complaints about the water pressure at all. So when I purchased the Culligan showerhead I expected the water pressure to be somewhat disappointing because it had a filter. So before installing it I took out the flow restrictor with needle nose pliers. Then I installed it, installation was as easy as Culligan says it is. Just screw it on the pipe although you may need tools to remove your old showerhead like I did. Finally I tried it out and since I was used to my old showerhead, Culligan's showerhead pressure caused me to take a step back because the water pressure without the flow restrictor is somewhat painful. Fortunately like most people I can manually adjust the amount of water pressure I want for showering. I'm warning everyone the water pressure is painful for those sensitive areas so think twice before removing that flow restrictor otherwise you might feel like you're in a real life Seinfeld episode. Install the Culligan showerhead WITH the flow restrictor on first. Then if you're unhappy with the water pressure go ahead and remove the Culligan showerhead, then remove the flow restrictor (Culligan provides instructions in the box that tells you how), then reinstall the Culligan showerhead. Pros 1. Easy installation, even amateurs can install it 2. Great water pressure 3. My skin and hair are much softer after using this showerhead 4. Great price 5. Replacement filters are inexpensive 6. Quality and reliability, I haven't had any problems with this showerhead not working. Cons. 1. None This concludes today's Seinfeld episode.
