We had owned it for less than a year when I tapped it while washing it and it cracked (hence the 4 stars instead of 5....I don't think it shouldn't have broken in the first place). So, although it was still useable, I elected to order a new carafe from Amazon rather than purchase a new coffee maker for obvious reasons. The carafe came well packaged and works great. If it cracks though, I might have to consider purchasing a different coffee maker...I've been married for over 30 years and that was the first coffee carafe that I ever cracked.Replacement CarafeThe replacement Carafe is fine other than the glass seems a little more fragile than most other coffee pots. That is probably why I broke the first one. I keep looking for an aluminum one but haven't found a 14 cup.The only coffee pot for my maker, but it's fragileThis is the third one of these I have had in the 4 months I have had the maker. I think that putting cold water in the pot causes stress due to the metal band at the bottom and makes it more likely to crack so let the pot cool down before putting cold water in it. Otherwise, the pourer is good, and the best part is it holds 14 cups (whatever that means in the coffee maker world). How do they get away with calling 5 or 6 oz a cup?Fits Cuisinart 14-cup machine sold by CostcoNeeded to replace my broken carafe and couldn't match my Cuisinart model number to their website. Cuisinart's Customer Service (1-800-726-0190)confirmed that my 'club' version (marked Model CBC4400 on bottom)sold previously at Costco matches with this DCC-2200 carafe. Similar carafe price between Cuisinart and Amazon, but I chose Amazon with Prime shipping.
