Won't brew any longer. A lot of money down the drain!Poor Product Reliability - 2 failures in 2 yearsFirst, I absolutley love this product - when it works! My complaint is with the reliability. This is the second KM 7000 that I have purchased in the last two years. Both times the machine just quit brewing but grinded the beans normally.I am just now looking into the warranty. I bought this from Fusion Company through Amazon. Amazon is indicating a 1 year limited warranty on the product. But since this is through a third party I am not sure. Since the same thing has failed twice on two different coffe ginder/makers in the last two years, this must be happening to others and so surely Krups knows about this product defect. The Krups website only wants to deal with current or recent order or with returns that are less than 30 days old. Not a good sign. They also don't give a customer service contact phone number. Also a bad sign. Not durable, prone to problemsWe purchased the coffee maker new. Made great coffee for 7-8 months, then stopped heating the water. We were instructed to send the unit to a service center for repair. We got the unit back repaired in about a month. Within two weeks though, it stopped working for another reason. This time the hinged cover over the filter basket would not close completely after grinding the beans. The service center refused to stand behind their work and referred us to Krupps. We contacted Krupps and they replaced this unit with a new unit. This one lasted about 2-3 months before it stopped heating the water. Krupps replaced it again. This one lasted only a month or two before it also stopped heating the water. To the credit of Krupps, they did try to do good by us, but clearly this coffee maker has design issues. We never were given a good explaination as to why they kept failing. They mentioned running it without water, but we don't believe we did that. Not three times. We used these coffee makers usually once, sometimes twice a day. When they were working they made great coffee, but they don't last. They appear to just not be durable. It was also almost impossible to pour the water into the coffee maker without it spilling all over. That appeared to be caused by the design of the carafe spout. After the last one failed we gave up and just threw it away and went back to our 10 year old Mr. Coffee. We're considering a Cuisinart grind and brew now.Worked for a month, Krups has had it for 3 months, still not fixed or replacedI will never buy Krups brand again. My wife gave me this grind and brew as a gift. Initially it made great coffee, but after less than a month of use the water pump failed. Not the grinder, computer or some other complicated part, the water pump, the one thing I would expect to be reliable in any coffee maker.Since then it has been a nightmare of poor customer service. After not hearing anything for over a month I began calling the service center which kept telling me to call back as they were waiting on a part. After a month of this I was told that I would receive a replacement due to back ordered parts within two weeks. It has now been over three weeks and I still have no replacement. I just got off of the phone with the "customer service" folks who tell me it will be at least another week until I receive a replacement due to backordered coffe makers. How is this possible? The manufacturer can apparently continue to supply vendors, they just cant replace the ones that are faulty? When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told I would receive a call with in 48 hrs. Not holding my breath as I have been told this repeatedly before as well. Bottom line: This coffee maker failed after an unacceptably short period of use and customer service trying to rectify has been like calling an empty room. Great Coffee Maker -- Poorly madeThis is my second Krups Grind and brew. I love the way it makes coffee, clean, easy and good. The first one just quit after a year and a half. I though perhaps it was a fluke. Ordered another one and after the third pot, it quit as well. Called the customer service number in the manual and only got a recording that told me to send it to a repair shop. Checked the reviews on the repair shop and found which indicated rude people and slow (months)service.
