I found that if I used a #2 T-sac (normally for looseleaf tea), and used my own ground coffee, I got comparable results to a k cup. One other caveat... I recently replaced my full size Keurig with a Keurig mini. The mini I got has the top puncture needle a little off center (don't know if this is by design or not). You just have to drill the hole in the top cap a little wider and it works fine.Utterly Useless - Produces Watery SwillWhat's not to love about saving money and sparing the environment at the same time? That said, this product did not, for me, work as advertised. I had a bunch of Starbucks pods; used as directed, I got a pale, watery swill that bore little relationship to an actual cup of coffee. I tried several of the suggestions to make it work listed in the reviews above, but to no avail. The net is, I've ended up adding to the waste stream one more overpriced piece of plastic junk.great idea - weak coffeeI was very excited to learn about the pod holster and bought 2 from Amazon right away. My concern was more environmental than cost, and after purchasing the new super duper Breville single serve, I felt I had made a mistake - didn't really think hard about the plastic k-cups! Before deciding whether to return or not, I ordered the Perfect Pod Holster.It's certainly easy to use and certainly environmental friendly. The problem, I believe, is that there is no bottom piece with a hole in it. It's just open. The K-cups allow the coffee to steep a little while running through. This holster would be perfect if it had that bottom piece - and if you folks who created it are reading this, how about making it that way in the future. I figure with the way it's designed now, you can't add an additional piece to purchase and attach. Otherwise, I would use my 2nd "top" and put it on the bottom. I am not a fanatic coffee drinker, but I do like a stronger taste when I make a cup of coffee. I bought the Breville because I was tired of tossing coffee if family members decided they were rushing and bypassed the five cups I would brew. It's more of a new toy than anything. Honestly, if I don't use the k-cups, I find a better taste in my french press or regular coffee maker. So any suggestions? If Breville or Keurig is reading, maybe you can improve on the pod holster; and/or pod holster patent owner - I do believe you can improve on this design and make a PERFECT pod holster that we will all be happy to use. Meanwhile, I remain a bit disappointed though I will continue to use it and experiment. It does beat creating tons of plastic cups for our garbage dumps that won't disintegrate and help us contribute to global warming. Please share any ideas. Thanks. dsl Works Great!! Saves you money!!I'm very pleased with this product. It works like it's supposed to. I purchased (from Amazon) some Millstone coffee pods and have used them successfully in the Perfect Pod Holster. If you read the directions and also watch the instructive video, it is all very simple to have a great cup of coffee for about half the price of the Keurig K-cups. I received my Keurig brewer as a gift, but since I am basically a somewhat frugal person, I was not thrilled about having to purchase the K-cups. Finding the Perfect Pod Holster gives me the best of both worlds.ExcellentWe bought the Keurig coffee pot, and we love it, the coffe is great but expensive when my husband makes 3 to 4 cups a day.We tried the Reusable Coffee Filter Basket Replacement but felt the coffee was too weak because the water flows thru the mesh too quickly. Next we tried the perfect pod holster and paper filters. Very easy and concenient, coffee tastes great, and really not too much extra work. Excellent way to make inexpensive personalized kcups.
