I don't like the way it looks and even though it had a snap on lid I swear I could still smell it. The stainless steel compost pail with a filter in the lid has really done the job for me. It looks nice sitting on the counter by the sink and no more odors imagined or otherwise. When I empty it I can rinse it out at the faucet out back and it is ready to collect again.
