40 Qts not 40 gallons

The filter and whole Mavea sysytem works great except for one big issue, which is the filter seems to be only giving me 10 gallons not 40 gallons - if that. I am wondering if the filter is still effective despite the indicator telling me to change it after getting only 25% of the advertised life of the filter. Perhaps it is the indicator which is the problem and not the filter. I am on my third filter after 6 weeks of use. Has anyone else noticed the filter is not lasting nearly as long as expected?

The water is as tasty as water can be

This fits perfectly in my Mavea pitcher. My water comes from a reservoir that has algae growing in it, the city kills the algae with chemicals and it makes the city water undrinkable. This filter gets it all out where I don't have to buy bottled water and lug it home from the store.

When I had a PUR pitcher, the cylindrical filter was always hard to remove. The Mavea filters have a pull ring on top and it's very easy to pull the filter out. Also like the fact I don't have to soak the new filter in a pan of water for 15 minutes prior to installation.

Works fine in my Tassimo

The filter works fine and was the cheapest price I could find (if you including shipping + tax).

Works in Brita MAXTRA pitchers sold in Europe

I bought this filter for my Brita Maxtra pitcher (NOT the classic cylinder Brita filter) that I purcahsed in Italy and used for one year there. Apon returning to the states, I was surprised to find out that Brita doesn't sell the Maxtra in North America. The Mavea Maxtra filter is clearly the exact same filter. It works perfectly in the Brita Maxtra pitcher and I couldn't be happier with the quality.

Not enough documentation

I like the Mavea pitcher this is used for but not sure if the plastic used in the filter is BPA-free like the pitcher. Would make sense but a better label would be useful.
Great product otherwise. Great water taste!
